Jump {FIve Minute Friday}

Oh how I love Friday.  And for many reasons.  One of the reasons is Five Minute Friday with Lisa-Jo Baker.  Each week she gives us a prompt and we write for just five minutes.  Five minutes I can do.  I can sneak that it even when life is chaotic.  And so here I am.  Somehow, even five minutes of writing can give me perspective on things.  I invite you to try it too.  This week the prompt is JUMP!

GO
Jump
Jump Jump Jump
The word jump makes my mind go many directions.  First, playing with my kids.  Jumping on the bed, jumping off steps, jumping like a bunny rabbit.  I think giggles, fun and laughter.

Then I think about how I jump when someone asks me to do something.  And sometimes I get frustrated when they begin to expect me to jump instead of being thankful.

And I think of this year with MOPS and Take the Plunge.  Just jump in already.  Jump back into blogging three to four days a week instead of every once in a while.  Jump on in to the next step of whatever comes next.  Don't just sit there hem-ing and ha-ing.

But maybe jump is as much of the problem as it is the solution.  I keep jumping from one thing to the next.  Distracted by all there is to do.  Putting out fires as they come up.  Instead of setting goals, taking steps, and moving along with slow progress toward the goal.  I am acting like the hare.  Maybe I need to try being a tortoise for a change.

STOP

  3. Oh I am the queen of jumping from one thing to the next, without even thinking really. I have a little ADD in me. :) Praying you have a blessed weekend.

    1. Exactly. I think it can be a blessing and a curse because as a mom sometimes you have to keep up with a bunch of stuff at one time but sometimes focus would be nice too.
