Quiet

Five Minute FridayNow, set your timer, clear your head, for five minutes of free writing without worrying about getting it right.

1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community..

OK, are you ready? Please give us your best five minutes on:::
Quiet…

Quiet, Ahh, Quiet
Lord, that quiet place
I must quiet my soul, cease my striving and know that you are God.
And it may take a full five minutes just to quiet all the thoughts rambling around in my head.
Paper and pen helps to get the me out of my head so I can hear YOU.
And oh, You reward those who seek You. It is worth the effort.
And effort it is. I am frequently so busy with the urgent that I put off the most important.
Lord, teach me to have a still quiet spirit before You even the midst of a chaotic world

  2. Amen. May our "efforts" not join the chaos, eh? That seems my problem sometimes. Good words of reminder!

  4. I love the tools of pen and paper to get out my words to God. I find that by journaling my prayers, it quiets the chaos and noise and I can see what's important again amid this loud world. Glad you joined in again and shared.

    1. I agree. I find it much easier to stay focused when writing. Typing just isn't the same.

    1. The balance of Mary and Martha. And finding time to just sit at His feet. To me this is both a lofty goal and a necessity. Glad you stopped by.

    1. As His children, we really have it pretty good don't we. To get closer to the king we don't have to work harder we get quiet and rest in Him. Yet, it is so hard to do sometimes.

  7. Isn't it such a struggle just to quiet our own thoughts? That is not even accounting for all the noise around us.

I long for that silence, too.

    PS. Love your picture :)

    1. Absolutely. That picture just looks quiet to me. Maybe I should put a big copy of it in the space where I have my quiet time.

  8. Oh I love this: "Paper and pen helps to get the me out of my head so I can hear YOU.” This is exactly how He and I commune as well. Nothing compares. (visiting from Lisa-Jo)
