Post Christmas update!

I am sorry that I have been missing in action for way too long.  I had lofty goals for my blog in December and ended up being overwhelmed with it all.  I thought I'd post on probiotics.  Honestly, I thought probiotics would be an easy post.  I have known about them and used them for years.  But my research almost blew my mind.  I realized that there was a lot more to probiotics than I had originally thought.  And some "experiences" my family needed to have with lacto-fermented foods before I could write a good post on probiotics.
And then I got stuck.  I had sick kids, less than normal sleep hours, and extra to dos to get ready for Christmas.  I have discovered that some posts don't take much time or energy and others take me weeks to do right.  So in the midst of all the family and holidays I have been pondering what sort of balance I can strike for the New Year.  Originally I was posting every week day.  When I personally have a blog that I like to read, I look for something new each day.  But it has become obvious to me, that I cannot do weighty posts like fiber and probiotics on a daily basis.  At least not without ignoring my house, my kids, my husband, and my relationship with God.  And those things are the reasons that I am a stay at home mom and a blogger.
So, as the year comes to an end, I am pondering what changes to make for 2013 and what sort of rhythm is sustainable and will bring glory to God.
At this time I believe that I will continue to blog about food, faith, breastfeeding, health, and parenting.  The question that I am praying about is the frequency of the weightier posts, my daily schedule and how much time the boys should see me on the computer, and the total amount of my time to dedicate to the blog.

But don't worry.  The probiotic post is coming...I got a yogurt maker and a Bulgarian culture from Cultures for Health for Christmas.  I started the culture yesterday and served blueberry yogurt to my husband and oldest daughter today.  She asked if I could make it for her everyday.  I call that a success!  I am also going to make my first lacto-fermented salsa later this weekend.  And I'll tell you all about it.  I just don't know when.
